.My art practice spans a range of designs and ideas that examine topics ranging from identity to women’s societal issues. I use various mediums like ceramic, recycled and shared materials to create sculptural art. I use these ideas and materials to send a visual and many times coded message by use of symbolism.

 

My art involves an examination of the possibilities of the materials that are used, in a not so conventional manner, to create a social message. I have created interactive art installations in the past, and I plan to continue to evolve my art practice on important societal issues of personal importance to me. My installations are created to send a powerful message within an art gallery or museum setting of the issues that are known to the public, but many times hidden or stigmatized. Awareness through social practice of art can be a useful tool in creating awareness, change and empowerment of others.
