Stone 2011 This hand sculpted stone with two tones, gray and black, and two sides represents my duality. I am a twin, biracial, and swing between being an introvert and extrovert. The sculpting of the stone its self represents a form of empowerment because it was hammer, chiseled, filed and sanded by hand. The making of this stone took a toll on my hands, arms and shoulders. I feel the making of this stone gave me the inner strength to keep on creating despite my physical weaknesses.

Ceramic 2011 This sculpture of a purse represents any woman. The outside of the purse is a woman's outer being, her shell. It is the part of a woman that is exposed and what SHE chooses to be seen. The inside of the purse is a woman's soul. It is her beliefs, judgements, true self, and it holds her secrets, pain, memories, knowledge, strengths and weaknesses. She allows only those she truly trusts to open her purse and look inside.

Ceramic 2015 This piece is my Modernist version of a ceramic still life. The fish turning away to the left represents the individuals who find their own path in life.

Ceramic 2015 Photograph showing more detail on the glaze used on the fish.

Ceramic 2015. Real objects cast in plaster and slip casted, fired and underglazed and glazed.

Ceramic 2013 This ceramic sculpture represents the role of the empowered mother as protector and mentor to her child. She plants the seeds of the knowledge of empowerment to overcome gender inequality, and societal issues into her child.

Ceramic 2014 Collaboration with Leah Burrell. Created from the readings in Conference of the Birds which contains Sufi Poetry which uses birds to reflect human traits. The ducks were skeptical of the existence of God.

Ceramic and bed 2015 The ceramic objects in this installation were cast from plaster molds that I made from real objects. It was a Post Modern project and I wanted to use a wine bottle, bread, and fish to create a social message. The message I chose was about alcohol and the inability to give consent for sex. The vaginal opening in the hip is being deflowered and turns into a red flower by the wine bottle or phallic object. The unleavened bread signifies sin, the fish and eggs are fertility.
